Thanks to all who made the trek to LA for our last show of the year- we had friends and fans from all over California and a special shout out to Debbie who flew in from Floride to be there! It was a great crowd and apologies to all who got stuck in the terrbile LA traffic and missed us.

Despite a great night we unfortunately have some bad news to report. This past Wednesday, Dec. 8th our trailer was stolen while we were at practice in Ventura. We lost half of our equipment and all our merchandise. The loss is valued at close to 15,000.00 dollars and it has wiped us out financially right before the holidays. The police are on the case but unfortunately they say it doesn't look good. We'll be speding this weekend posting flyers at local pawn shops and in the neighborhood where it was stolen.

With that said, we’re taking donations to save up for a new trailer and to replace our equipment and merchandise- any help at all is greatly appreciated. If you're interested in making a donation please email info@armyoffreshmen.com and we'll let you know where and how to send it.

Or if you’d like to hunt down the thieves yourself- BOUNTY HUNTER STYLE! – feel free to send their carcasses to our PO BOX- we thank you in advance.

In lighter news- our first string of shows in the new year will be announced shortly along with our annual year end wrap up- so check back soon!

Long time no talk – internet was hell across the pond and we apologize for the lack of updates but…we have safely returned from our triumphant UK Tour! We had an amazing time, saw Stonehenge, Westminster Abbey, Buckingham Palace… and… oh yeah… ROCKED 15 shows throughout England and Scotland including three massive shows with Bowling For Soup! Did we mention we got our first EVER tour bus? Granted it was only for three days but a milestone indeed.

But there is no rest for the Freshmen. We are men on a mission. We’ve been on American soil now for less than 24 hours and after a good night’s sleep and despite jet lag we will wake up, hop in the van and hit the road again for a 35 hour drive straight to Minneapolis to start the Suburban Curse Tour with Lucky Boys Confusion! Check the tour dates for all the details and for new dates in Texas, Florida, Georgia and Kentucky!

To celebrate the tour Fearless Records has a contest going for all sorts of cool merch and prizes from the bands including AOF. Check it out!

Tickets are now on sale for all shows so contact the clubs or Ticketmaster. For your info a lot of the shows are early and AOF is on second every night so be sure to check here for the start times- we don’t want you to be late.

For all those who asked, YES we will be keeping a Tour Log so check this site in the next few days for the first update.

AOF in Alternative Press! We’ve told you about our first ever national press in the teen mags Bop and J-14 last month but while we were in the UK on our tour bus (can’t believe I just typed that) we got a copy of our favorite magazine Alternative Press and saw a review of Beg, Borrow, Steal! We got a 3 out of 5 (not bad for AP standards) and this glowing comment: “AOF know how to write a hook and we wouldn’t be surprised if they blow up.”

HELL YEAH! Granted they did take a shot on the keyboards but we’ll take it! Pick the NOV. issue and find the review on page 139. Also check out the add for the Suburban Curse Tour on page 103. While your there we need your HELP. On page 40 is a cut out ticket where you can fill in 3 bands you’d like to see covered in future issues of AP. We’re asking that you cut out the ticket, send it in to the address provided and make sure ARMY OF FRESHMEN is one of the bands. Pass the word and let’s not settle for just a good review- let’s get an article!

Radio Assault! “Get Um Up” is heating up at radio and with your help we can take it to the next level! Check out our newly updated Radio Request Page for a list of all the stations spinning it and how you can help us request it!

Keep bothering your local store to stock Beg, Borrow, Steal and we’ll see you at the shows this fall- we can’t wait to get back and see everybody- please spread the word on the tour and we’ll see you there. If of course you’d like to help us out on the road check our list of things we need.

As for those postcards for the UK- expect them any day now! We’ll be filling out close to 1,000 of them on the way to Minneapolis. Don’t ever say we don’t care. : > )

As always we want to hear from you! It’s going be a long month of long drives and your emails keep us going. Hit up the band at info@armyoffreshmen.com or find our personal addresses here.

your international jet lagged men of mystery,

ARMY OF FRESHMEN

A Bloody Good Morning To Ya!

Greetings from our first day off- we've played 8 straight shows and are all looking forward to a day to chill- well actually chill means siting on a coach bus for 6 hours but anyways... should be nice.

Shows have been picking up and last night in Leister I think we put on our personal best show yet. I think I am finally getting the right vibe to talk to people out here. We're hoping to finish out the last 4 strong in preperation for the 2 big ass Bowling For Soup shows. BFS is massive here. Plus those will be the first two shows EVER that we will be in a tour bus. Our very own tour bus! More on that soon.

For folks back home- lots of dates for the fall tour coming in- check the tour dates setion and we'll see ya soon!

CHRIS "BLOODY HELL" JAY

September 26, 2004

Greetings from a country home bedroom in Flockton, UK.!

I am spending my first birthday abroad today. It’s weird. Everyone is still asleep and I m up already showered and doing laundry. Kinda lonely actually. They’ll be no phone calls from mom or cake waiting for me anywhere.

But anyways who wants to hear my psycho babble- I’ve got great news to report- I finally found some food I like! That’s right… up the street from here is a Fish and Chips place that is delicious. In fact as soon as I am done doing this update I am going there for day 2.

Last Night’s show was really fun (I think our best yet) at the side room of big chain of venues out here called The Academy. My ankle was feeling better and it was better turn out then the past two nights. In fact our friend Shari from Black Velvet Magazine was there and already has great photos up.

Enjoy an unshaven Aaron and some great Kai rocking out pics.

Well I’m off to see what my day of birth in a foreign country has in store for me- I think I might buy myself something or maybe just get drunk tonight at the show- haven’t done that yet- maybe I’m due. : > )

the birthday boy abroad,

CHRIS JAY

September 24, 2004

Greetings from Liverpool - home of the Beatles!

The manager of the club is letting me sneak on a computer. So anyways...

I hate the food here but I love the people- what a conflict. My two favorite things and one is terrible and the other is awesome. I will find something good before I leave but it sure as hell isn't Mcdonalds. Beyond that having a great time and even got to stay at a fan's house last night. It was straight out of Harry Potter! When I woke up to a cat licking my face I was half thinking it was going to turn into a witch and fly my ass back to Hogwarts.

Watching a lot of the Ali G show on the bus which is hilarious. Still lagging on the jet a bit but the excitement of new cities and clubs keeps me going. Tommorrow we get a keyboard back from being fixed so things are on the up and up baby!

having a bloody good time!

CHRIS JAY

September 21, 2004

Greetings from a country house in the rolling hills of Wakefield, UK! We're on Day 3 of the tour and so far... well... it's been a nightmare! Everyone is ok and the bands we are touring with are great people but... if you can believe this we have fried all 3 of keyboards! Due to the electrical power difference in this country all three keyboards are down and in the shop- we've played the first two shows with two functioning boards that weren't ours so you can imagine what a pain that is. We're pretty frustrated with it all as its us but doesn't quite sound right. Speaking of frustrated my ankle still isn't right and I feel as if I'm not giving my best shows because of it.

In other news- I can't get over jet lag, the food kind of sucks and everything is way expensive but beyond that still blown away that we are here and very thankful. More updates on the way!

An American Abroad- Chris Jay

September 19, 2004

Greetings from London! We made it! After a two LONG flights we touched down in the UK. More importantly we hung out with Vanilla Ice at the airport- no lie- we got a pic! We hit the pubs last night and tried not to act too American- people here drink alot- too much actually. It's unreal. Everything is also very expensive. Tonight's the first show- wish us luck!

As for the I WANT A POSTCARD DAMN IT – well it worked a little too good. Last time we did it for Japan we sent out about 50- expecting the same response we said why not- let’s do it again- little did we think that over 500 people would ask for one. I know it’s good sign but an expensive one. Still we opened our big mouths and we’re standing by it even if it means spending half the trip filling out postcards.

More dates are pouring in for the Suburban Curse Tour this fall with Lucky Boys Confusion! Just added this week are Nebraska, Seattle and San Francisco- expect even more in the next week.

“Get Um Up” is slowly getting picked up by more stations around the country. Check our Radio Request page for all the current stations with more to be added next week. Right now we really need you to attack the following two stations who are showing AOF lots of love: KANR/The Tiger in Wichita, KS (316-652-9275) and and WLIR/The Box in Long Island, NY (631-648-1071). Try to request "Get Um Up" at least once a day.

Remember how we told you about that kick butt online radio station idobi.com? Well they are officially the greatest radio station in the world. As we write this “Get Um Up” is the #2 most requested song on the station! Call us jocks but we want number #1. Just drop idobiradio@hotmail.com a quick line and ask to hear “Get Um Up.” You help get us to #1, we drop a prize on you during the next tour- sound like a deal?

Right now, Beg, Borrow, Steal is available at lmost any Tower Records, FYE, Wherehouse, Camelot, Rasputin. If your store doesn’t have it- they can get it- order the dang thing! If you already have it- make sure your local store is carrying it. Get it super cheap at towerrecords.com. Owning the record is the biggest way you can help us out right now.

Thanks to everyone who ran out and bought AOF’s first ever national press in the current issue of BOP. We know you swallowed a little pride for that- we thank you but… the God of Teen Mags has struck again! We just found out we are in the current issue of J-14 nagazine on page 85! There's a small pic and review. What is going on? We’re stoked to get our second piece of national press, though, and it’s in supermarkets and bookstores EVERYWHERE!

Speaking of press, anyone in college in Cali catch Army of Freshmen giving love advice in the latest issue of Campus Circle? Campus Circle is weekly paper that goes to colleges all throughout the state and besides a nice AOF pic, they asked us to answer love advice questions. We’re pretty sure after our less than politically correct advice, those relationships are now officially destroyed, but it was cool anyway.

Head over and join our new message board. Even if you were on the old one you’ll have to re sign up and make some friends and start the promo rolling for the fall tour! As always reach us at info@armyoffreshmen.com and oh yeah- after years of request- coming to club near you on the fall tour- THE ARMY OF FRESHMEN HOODIE. Rejoice!

August 12, 2004

Greetings from Canada where the streets are clean, the people are nice and everbody ends sentences with "eh".

Well Warped Tour is slowing winding down (only 5 shows left) and despite intense exhaustion we are going strong.Check out the most recent tour log for the latest adventures! Speaking of Warped- history has been made! 7 years in the making and we have confirmed and witnessed with out own eyes the very first Army of Freshmen Fan Tattoo! Yes that's right our friend Jen from Deserts of San Diego fly to Pennsylvania to show us her new tat- and it's an AOF design- (photo coming soon) unreal... let the onslaught of tats continue.

Now for those of you who want to help but aren't ready to dedicate skin space. Here's some things you can do!

1. Post Warped Tour Dates and Word Spreading!
We have a week of shows scheduled on our way back from Warped Tour that are coming up soon and we need YOU to spread the word. New dates posted in Springfield, IL. and a free in store in Scottsdale, AZ. If you live close to any of the shows- go to Tour Dates for details and spread the word! First of all show up with your posse, secondly tell anyone who you think would be into it, third email/myspace a message to your friends with the show info, stop by your local record store/hot topic/skate shop/mall and put up a homemade flyer or download one off our site! Some of the shows are even FREE so no excuse there!

2. Email assault on Fuse!
We are still working on our email campaign to FUSE! Help us get our video for "Get Um Up" (made for pennies at Kai's Dad's House) which features Chris on a date from hell complete with Mike in the bathtub (needs to be seen to be believed) on the air! Even if you've done it before do it again and email fuseinfo@fuse.tv and request Army of Freshmen's "Get Um Up"! Once a day would be nice. : > ) Need to see the video well pop in your copy of Beg, Borrow, Steal into your computer and it's on there (some computers play a low grade version but you'll get the point). Also on the enhanced CD is a photo gallery from our trip to Japan, Warped and the Video shoot!

3. Get Beg, Borrow, Steal and get it in your store!
For those of you that haven't got the record (we know who you are too) for cripe's sake- get it! There are several ways. First off you can go to Tower Records online (put link here) and get it for the low, low sale price of 8.99! For everyone else all Tower Records in the USA are carrying it, most FYEs and there have been sightings at Borders, Sam Goodys and even a Target! Now if your local store doesn't carry it- tell them to order it! Even if you have it yourself- order it again and then don't pick it up- see the logic there- it's a win/win!

Thanks for bearing with us in this long update- just for your help we've included of a load of reviews and interviews that are starting to pore in for the new record- enjoy! If you're interested in doing a review or interview of AOF for your local paper or online zine contact our publicist AMY@MEYERPR.COM Till then keep them emails pouring in to info@armyoffreshmen.com Someone in the band will get back to you!

your Canadian Travelers-

Chris, Aaron, Owen, Dan, Mike, Kai

Today's the day! Beg, Borrow, Steal is now out in stores! If you haven't gotten your copy already, head over to Tower Records, where the CD is on sale for $8.99!

July 11, 2004

Friends of the Freshmen!

Lots of good news. We are playing nearly everyday at Warped so far (keep your fingers crossed), drawing great crowds and making a ton of new friends and fans. Be sure to check our booth as soon as you get in the venue to get details on the day.

Also guess who got mentioned and also has pictures on Warped Tour's official site? Us! Go to the pit report on www.warpedtour.com and check out the nice things they said about us and pictures they took on the Idaho date.

Most importantly... this is it. Our new record comes out this Tuesday, July 13th. Here's the deal even if you already have an advance copy please head to your store and order it. Here's the info if they play stupid: tell them Army of Freshmen- Beg, Borrow, Steal on 33rd St. Records distributed by Bayside. If you tell them all that we assure you they can get it. It will be in all Tower Records this Tuesday so if you got one close by, get it there.

Oh by the way... with all these new people discovering the joy of AOF we just set our new record for most website hits in a day and then we broke it again. So listen- spread the word- if you've got a friend going to Warped tell them to catch AOF- tell them to pick up the new record. Spread the word- we appreciate it and keep those emails coming in!

boys in the band,

Chris, Aaron, Owen, Dan, Mike, Kai

July 6, 2004

Well yesterday was our first day off of Warped Tour and it was well needed. We've played 5 of the 9 shows so far and San Fran was by far the best - we broke AOF's all time CD sales in one day! Big hello to all our new friends. Last night, we drove back to Cali and we're look forward to seeing everyone in Ventura - we are confirmed for that date so be sure to stop by our tent and get the time. We will also be signing in the Dimple Records Tent in Sacramento so don't miss that! New Tour Log adventures here.

see ya soon

July 1, 2004

Warped rages on! Right now we are in LA for show number 6. We've made a ton of new fans and friends and although it's grueling, we are having a blast. A slight change in plan though: due to some confusion the confirmed shows for the next 2 weeks are back to being announced on a day to day basis. So show up at our tent as soon as you get there to see if we'll be on stage. And remember check the tour log for the latest adventures!

warping away,

Chris, Aaron, Owen, Dan, Mike, Kai

Right now we're on Day 3 of Warped and all is going well - wet, crazy and dirty - but the big news is we have been confirmed to play the Ernie Ball Stage from June 28 to July 17. More news soon for now check out the tour log!

June 22, 2004

Tomorrow we head to Texas for the start of Warped Tour and what should be the greatest summer of our lives! We are running around like crazy, taking care of last minute details, but come Wednesday morning we should be ready to roll.

We’ll even be home to catch our second ever song in a TV show! That’s right TONIGHT, June 22 “Put Me In A Photograph” will once again grace a TV show when it’s in the background of Summerland on the WB at 9pm. Tune it, tape it and try to not let the show rot your brain.

We’re happy to announce we finally have a lap top with internet access in the van so this means we are keeping an extensive tour log. We are going to do daily updates, so spread the word and get all the latest happenings on AOF and The Warped Tour.

To get ready for Warped, check out this new interview with Chris on the unofficial Warped Tour site for the down low on how AOF on Warped came about.

We’re happy to announce that we have a publicist helping to promote AOF now! If you write for a paper or webzine and are interested in doing an interview with AOF at Warped this summer please contact Amy at Meyer PR.

Lastly… since we’re sleeping and living in a van for the next two months now more than ever we’d appreciate hearing from you. Check out the contacts section for everyone’s email addresses.

See ya at Warped!

June 15, 2004

A huge thank you to everyone who came out to the CD Release Party. It was a very special night for all of us. Over 500 AOF fans were in the house and some came as far as Maine, Massachusetts, New Jersey, DC, Indiana and Oklahoma to be there! We'll have photos from that night and Japan up soon.

The CD will be officially released on July 13 on 33rd St. Records. It will be available in all Tower Records for only 8.99 this summer and we will be taking online pre-orders soon. Be sure to hit your local shop and have them order it so you can have it the day it comes out. It's enhanced with the video for "Get Um Up" and a photo gallery!

It's official - we are on going on the entire 2004 Warped Tour! (insert wild cheering here). We will have a booth and be selling the new CD at all 47 dates. We will also be playing on random dates throughout the tour. So as soon as you get in the venue find the AOF tent to check if we're on that day and pick up the new CD. We'll be keeping an extensive tour log while we're on the road so be sure to stay tuned here for all the latest Warped news and gossip. Check the tour dates and let us know where we'll be seeing you.

In more super huge news, we are officially going on our first tour of the United Kingdom this fall (insert disbelief and more wild cheering)! To celebrate the Casino Strips and Sunset Strips compilation we will be on the Brand New Hero Records Tour with The Littlest Man Band (Reel Big Fish side project) and Suburban Legends. While in England we will also be hopping on a Bowling For Soup show - dates are starting to be announced so check the tour dates section. Another continent? Will AOF mania ever cease?

While you're here check out the new bio and be sure to visit us on that crazy thing the kids all love, My Space and be our friend.

The hour is almost upon us. The Gala CD Release Party is set for this Saturday, June 12 at Salzers Records in Ventura. Hopefully your travel plans are in place.

We just got the CDs today and they look great! For all the details check out the special page, but here are a few quick updates:

We will be going to the 7:35 showing of Harry Potter on Friday and meeting outside around 6:45-7:00.
Our set at the Core Tour on Sunday has been moved to 1pm, so make sure to get there early.
To all in Ventura County pick up copy of The Ventura County Star this Thursday, June 10 and check out the AOF article in the Time Out section.
Also for you locals tune into Live 105.5 on Friday Morning June 11 at 8am. The station will be doing an on air interview with Chris.
As for the song requests… well let’s just say so far it looks like a certain guitar player is going to be singing a certain song about saving a certain world and a certain
singer is going to have to eat his words about burning down a certain record store. How’s that for hints?
see you on Saturday with bells on,

Chris, Aaron, Owen, Dan, Mike, Kai

PS. Oh did we mention… the new CD is enhanced?

June 1, 2004

We are only two weeks away from the big day- the CD release party for Beg, Borrow, Steal at Salzer’s Records in Ventura on June 12! May 25, 2004

We are back from our triumphant return to Japan! It was an absolute dream come true - sold out shows, screaming fans, hour long autograph sessions, TV and radio interviews, our record going to #4 on the charts in one city, amazing food, new friends, swanky hotels, airplane and train rides, the first ever acoustic in-store and probably the best time and tour of our career - we’ll get a tour recap and photo gallery up soon on the site but for now it’s back to business in the states! We return from stardom to the harsh reality of ice rinks and bars this weekend. Come join us for our back to reality weekend…

This Friday May, 28 at The Ice Station in Valencia, CA. for a 10-band fest - AOF is on at 8:45 and the Station is located at 27745 N. Smyth Dr. and the contact number is 661- 775-8686. Then Saturday May 29 we’re back to our over 21 home sweet home, Bombays in downtown Ventura. Show starts at 10pm and expect AOF crying in the beers at the bar swapping stories of their glory days of last week.

Forget all that crap though! The life altering epic event known as the CD Release Party at Salzer’s in Ventura on June 12 is now only 3 weeks away! We’ve got tons planned and we’ll release more info here soon - so keep checking back and start planning those road trips now! You wouldn’t want to miss out on history? Of course you wouldn’t.

Lastly… the split cd “Casino Chips and Sunset Strips” was released in the UK this week featuring 3 new AOF songs from BBS! You can order it here in the states by heading to Brand New Hero Records. It’s cheap and it ships from the US so no long waits - get AOF’s first ever UK release - speaking of the UK… nevermind... this is too long already.

back to the grind,

Chris, Aaron, Owen, Dan, Mike, Kai

May 16, 2004

Greetings from Japan!

The first week of the tour is over and we played to hundreds of people opening up 4 shows for the Living End along with our almost sold out solo show! Amazing to see people who don't even speak English singing along to "Uniforms". It's been a dream so far and we have had more experiences in one week than one could ever hope for. This week is some tv and press interviews, our first acoustic in store and the big finale show with our friends Sugarcult and Bowling For Soup- see ya soon and get ready for that cd release show!

your friends in Japan (how nutty is that?),

Chris, Aaron, Owen, Dan, Mike, Kai

May 6, 2004

Late breaking BIG news! We just found out for the first time ever, Army of Freshmen will have a song in a TV show and we can't even watch it! Tommorrow night, Friday, May 7th @ 8pm on CBS tune into "Joan of Arcadia" and hear Army of Freshmen's "Put Me In A Photograph" in the background of the episode! How cool is that? Please tape it - we'll be stuck on an airplane and can't see it! What a weird twist of fate!

May 5, 2004

We leave in 48 hours for our return trip to Japan. In celebration we present to you DAY 3 of last summer’s Japanese Tour Log!

Get stoked on the new tour by checking some of the Japanese sites for the shows! Head over to Creativeman and look for the cool animated AOF pop up in the news section, and Imageland, who have a whole site dedicated to the show with Bowling For Soup and Sugarcult. Check out some of our Japanese Fan Sites in the links section too!

We’ll try and send an update or two off to our webmaster while we’re gone but don’t feel left out 'cause when we return the BIGGEST event of the year will go down: ARMY OF FRESHMEN’s CD RELEASE PARTY FOR BEG, BORROW, STEAL! SATURDAY, JUNE 12th @ SALZER’S RECORDS PARKING LOT in VENTURA, CA. Lots of great stuff are planned so start making those road trips now - there are already reports of brave AOF fans from all over the States making the pilgrimage. More on the big day when we get back.

Feel free to write us when we’re gone - they say we should be able to check email - it’d be great to hear from you!

your not looking forward to the flight but stoked to go back to Japan homies,

Chris, Aaron, Owen, Dan, Mike, Kai

April 27, 2004

The Tour Log for the East Coast invasion is here - enjoy!

In international news…
With Army of Freshmen’s return to Japan only 10 days away things are picking up in the land of rising sun. Our video for “GET UM UP” (that’s right we made a video - you’ll see it soon) is in rotation on all three Japanese video networks including MTV Japan. Sales of Beg, Borrow, Steal are going so well that they’ve added an acoustic in store performance in Tokyo and the record remains in the top 10 in the city of Sapporo. Too cool.

Last year’s extremely popular, “Want to get a postcard from AOF while they’re in Japan” is back! Simply send an email to chris@armyoffreshmen.com with JAPAN POSTCARD in the subject and your address in the message and you’ll get an autographed Japanese postcard from the band while we’re over there. Let’s see Linkin Park pull that off.

Now let’s talk United Kingdom. AOF is happy to announce that finally we’ll have some music released over there. On May 17, Brand New Hero Records will release a four way split cd featuring three songs each from AOF, Split Habit, The Suburban Legends and The Silence. It’s entitled Casino Chips and Sunset Strips and you can get more information and pre order it here. Also check out the split’s first review from the online zine Ewo-Punk.com and a read a new online interview with Chris from the same place.

your ready to go back to Japan homies,

Chris, Aaron, Owen, Dan, Mike, Kai

April 26, 2004

We have three new FOTS entries up, so check them out!

April 23, 2004

Due to circumstances out of our control (ie. the venue's last minute decision to no longer have rock concerts), tonight's show at The Theater on High has been canceled. We apologize for any inconvenience and are really bummed about not being able to rock. Another local music venue bites the dust.

April 22, 2004

We’re back from the amazing East Coast Invasion where we had a blast playing to tons of people at the Flipside and Skate and Surf Festivals. Look for a tour log on the road trip later this week.

We’ll be celebrating our return with a close to home show this Friday Night, April 24th @ The Theater on High in Moorpark, CA. w/ our friends The Return and Just Cause. Show starts at 7 pm and is located @ 45 High Street For more info call 805-497-1507. It’s a really cool old school theater worth checking out. Moorpark is in Ventura County for those who get lost easily.

This will be the last chance to catch AOF before the rapidly approaching Japanese Tour so don’t miss it!

your back from the east keyboard rockers,

Chris, Aaron, Owen, Dan, Mike, Kai

April 13, 2004

We’re off to the East Coast! Some important information about the Festivals.

First and most importantly Skate and Surf is officially sold out. No more tickets are available but the good news is AOF is on an outdoor stage meaning you’ll still be able to see us if you come and hang out.

Secondly the set and stage times have been announced. We will be on 6:30 pm at Flipside on the Reckless Stage and 1:30 pm at Skate and Surf on the Ocean Ave. Outdoor Stage. Don’t be late.

For all of you in Chris’ hometown, Cape May, NJ. AOF will be hanging on Thursday at Mr. J’s Music Shop and partying at Cabanas that night – come by and say hi!

We’ll post a, East Coast journal when we get back!

off to Soprano land,

Chris, Aaron, Owen, Dan, Mike, Kai

April 5, 2004

It's the final weekend before we head over to the east coast to rock the Flipside Fest and Skate & Surf Fest. We'll be spending it at The Desert Inn in Lancaster, CA on Friday, April 9. Show starts at 7pm and AOF is headlining. Tickets are only $7. The Inn is located at 44219 Sierra Hwy. This will go off. The next night, we say goodbye with 21+ show at Bombays in Ventura, CA. See all you old folks there.

The release of BEG, BORROW, STEAL in Japan is already making waves! We've had features in the 4 major music magazines in the country and just found out that BBS is the number 8 selling record in the city of Sapporo, next to The Vines and a Guns N Roses Greatest Hits. Too cool.

For all you web heads, Army of Freshmen icons and banners have arrived and they look great! Let's see those bad boys start popping up all over AIM and websites.

The date and venue for the CD release show have changed. It's now going to be a FREE outdoor show at our favorite record shop in Ventura, CA.,Salzers, on Saturday, June 12th. Start making those road trips. More on this monster event soon but we wanted to give you the jump start.

Check out the Fans of the Show from last weekend's great run of shows.

Last but not least- AOF mania has crossed the pond. Check our the first ever United Kingdom Army of Freshmen Fan Site.

gearing up for the east coast,

Chris, Aaron, Owen, Dan, Mike, Kai

Due to a problem with our mailing list, we've been unable to process any information submitted to us recently. If you tried signing up for the mailing list (and ONLY the mailing list - NOT the street team) in the past three weeks, please try again now. Apologies for any inconvenience this has caused.

March 29, 2004

It’s confirmed. This Thursday, April 1 we will be at USC’s FREE Spring Fest in LA. The outdoor show starts at 6pm and AOF is on at 7:30. Also on the bill are The Matches and a "special guest." For more info call 213-740-5656 or go to to usc.edu for directions.

The following night, Friday, April 2 we return to Northern California for a massive show at The Oasis in San Rafael w/ The Matches, Solemite, Audio Karate and more. This show will sell out so get there early! Doors are 6pm. We wrap up the mini tour with the Matches on April 3 at Mitchell Park in Palo Alto, CA. Show starts at 7pm. For more info visit lgouthouse.com. This will sell out.

How could we forget? Army of Freshmen have joined MY SPACE! Head over to myspace.com and be our friend.

See ya this weekend!

March 28, 2004

We are not sure what's going on with the Spring Fest at USC in LA on Thursday. We'll be there... The Matches will be there... But the Ataris have posted on their site that they'll be in Vegas. This seems odd because the school sent us a contract with the Ataris confirmed on it and there are posters for it out so...at this point we don't know if they'll be there or not - as soon as we have more info we'll post it here. Sorry about the confusion!

March 23, 2004

In celebration of the release of the new record in Japan Chris finally got off his butt and finished DAY 2 of last summer's Japanese Tour Log.

Big show announced! Army of Freshmen will be appearing with The Ataris at USC's Spring Fest on Thursday, April 1st!

March 22, 2004

Just in time for the Japanese record release... Welcome to the newly remodeled Army of Freshmen site! Most of the content is the same - it's just in a nicer package than before. There's a new section of downloads, so go there to check out a few recently added photos and two new fliers to help us promote shows!

March 18, 2004

FYI, the site will be down over the weekend for some maintenance. We apologize for any inconvenience this will cause.

March 15, 2004

Friends of the Freshmen!

Fans of the show have been updated for the past three shows.

All you east coasters, make sure you get your tickets to the April festival shows in advance, as they are on pace to sell out. For Skate and Surf in Jersey, visit skateandsurffest.com and for Flipside in Virginia, visit flipsidefestival.com.

In celebration of our return to Japan you've got to check out AOF CRAZY, a new Army of Freshmen Japanese Fan Site! There’s all sorts of bizarre Japanamation drawings of the band. Too cool.

Check out a new online interview with Chris at killyourscene.net.

We’ll all be hanging out Wed. night Mar 17th @ Skate Street in Ventura to see our friends from Chicago, Spilt Habit, so come on out. They totally rock. For info on the show visit theloftventura.com.

Any questions… drop us a line at info@armyoffreshmen.com

March 9, 2004

Friends of the Freshmen!

As promised - the BIG NEWS.

First and foremost Army of Freshmen will make their grand return to the East Coast this April for two festival appearances- Sat. April 17th at The Flipside Festival in Alexandria, VA. with Sugarcult, Fallout Boy, Mae and more. Then Sun. April 18th at The Skate and Surf Festival in Asbury Park, NJ. with Yellowcard, MXPX, Less Than Jake and more!

AOF will be flying out to the shows and there will be no other dates so if you’re anywhere on the east coast this is your only shot to see us this spring - start planning the road trip now. We highly recommend advance tix (as these are two huge events) and they can be purchased along with more info at flipsidefestival.com and skateandsurffest.com. We don’t want any AOF fans to miss out!

Now for the other BIG news: The Army of Freshmen are happy to announce that they have been invited back to Japan! Insert tears of joy here. We’ll be promoting our new record which comes out March 24th in Japan on a May tour with on of our faves- The Living End. There will be more information as it’s available but the important thing is – the international invasion continues.

In more pressing news we return to Big Game in Fresno this Sat. Mar. 13th for another rocker with South of Shaw, Flight 409 and our great friends from Chicago, Split Habit. Don’t miss this one. The last one was out of control.

For all your old people we will also be playing a rare 21 and over show this Fri. Mar. 12 in Ventura at Nicholbys. Bars and bands - it actually was popular once. For info on all these shows visit tour dates.

East Coast…Japan…Fresno? What a wonderful world.

We told you it was big,

Chris, Aaron, Owen, Dan, Mike, Kai

March 4, 2004

With a day left it looks as if AOF has fought a valiant battle in the not so great contest of 2004, but we’ll fall short of first place. Actually that’s fine by us cause this whole contest has been mired with rumors of cheating bands, email sabotage against us (not kidding) and a website that would never load - we’re glad to be done - check out the message board for a detailed breakdown. Now on to the show…

This Saturday night, we return to Oakland, CA. to play an L3 at I MUSIC CAST. Check out Tour Dates for info. Doors open at 6:00 pm, Expect AOF after 8:00 pm.

To top it off this entire show will be web cast! That means if you have a half decent computer, you can watch the entire concert online by visiting imusiccast.com There’s also a chat room where you can talk to other fans online during the show, and a few guys from the band will stop in too. Remember it’s West Coast Time so tune in around 11 East Coast and 10 Midwest.

Two HUGE things got confirmed yesterday for AOF and next week we intend to let those rather large cats out of the bag! Check back here Monday and we’ll see you online Sat. Night!

March 2, 2004

The SXSW contest rages on and currently we are in 3rd place which is AWESOME! There are only 3 days left to vote and we need you to do everything you can!

1. Vote at your computer! If you haven’t voted already- do it! WWW.ALTPRESS.COM go to AMP Showcase. AOF is the 2nd band.

4. Forward it to ALL your friends, family, email addresses, buddy lists etc… This is a biggie. When you are on AIM make sure everyone you talk to has voted and send them the link.

With your help we can win this!

Knowing a little too much what it's like to be politicians,

P.S. Check out who's the FAN OF THE SHOW for the off the hook show in Bako!

February 26, 2004

February 25, 2004

Friends of the Freshmen!

Sorry for the confusion but a slight change has occurred with the AP contest. Apparently voting won't begin until Feb. 25. The site crashed from voting overload and it’s damn shame too cause we were in the lead! But get ready cause in one week we’ll be back at it to win a slot at the SXSW Festival!

This weekend we rock not one but two So. Cal. shows! First up is this Saturday, Feb. 21 at The Theater on High in Moorpark. Show is all ages and starts at 8pm. Also on the bill is Just Cause. The theater is located at 45 High St. and info is 805-529-5884. Come see AOF in a brand new town!

Chris, Aaron, Owen, Dan, Mike, Kai

February 12, 2004
Friends of the Freshmen!

Alternative Press is running a contest and the winner gets to play The SXSW Music Fest next month. We want... no... we NEED to play that festival and it’s entirely up to YOU if we do!

We rarely do this contest type thing but we think this is a damn good one and it's easy - all we need you to do is the following:
1. Go to www.altpress.com
2. Click on the AMP SHOWCASE LINK (it’s on the front page)
3. Scroll down to Army of Freshmen and vote for us!

It's that simple. You don't even have to listen to the song first - all you have to do is vote! It'll take five seconds of your day.

Here’s the catch… it looks like you can only do it once per computer so ANY computer you can find over the next two weeks (contest ends FEB. 25) go there and vote for us. We mean anywhere - school, Kinkos, Grandma's - anything you can think of!

We REALLY appreciate your help on this it means a lot. We’ll send an update next week on how it’s going.

THANKS!

Chris, Aaron, Owen, Dan, Mike, Kai

February 11, 2004

After hours of painstaking research, we've compiled an archive of past AOF shows. Study hard - there'll be a quiz on this later!

We also have a few new group photos up, so check them out, too.

January 27, 2004
Can it be? Finally online video footage of AOF? It’s true… our friend Jeff at Fissure films made a short B/W video from footage of our show last week at the Troubadour! We're also all over one of Bowling for Soup's home movies, and we have a couple of clips from Japan to show you, as well. Check them out:

Thanks to everyone from SLO who made the sold out show this past Saturday! Great to finally get back and see some old faces and make some new friends- we’re sorry the show was so short but it was one of those “the club needs to herd everyone out so they can do the stupid DJ thing after the all ages show”. Thanks to Watashi Wa and Numbskull for having us!

A few site updates: we've just put up some photos from our show in San Rafael last month, as well as a new Fan of the Show, so check those out! While you’re at it, check out a new online interview we did with Toxic Magazine.

This Saturday, Jan. 24th we make our long overdue return to San Luis Obispo when we rock the SLO Brew for an early all ages show with hometown heroes, Watashi Wa! The show is a very *early* 6pm start and ends at 8pm- it only has three bands so don’t be late. The Brew is a cool club with great sound located at 1119 Garden Street. Did we mention it’s only 5 bucks? If you’re on the central coast- be there!

The Troubadour show went off! Thanks to everyone who made the LA hell drive from as far aways as Oakland, San Luis Obispo and Lacaster. We had a great turn out for the first band of the night and we want to thank you all. Hopefully we're one step closer to getting this record out. New California shows have been announced so check the tour dates!

The first show of the year was awesome! A packed house in Fresno went off with a killer set of new material, a rocking crowd and a freestyle chicken fight that needed to be seen to be believed! If all the shows in 2004 go off this much- look out!

Here’s a last minute reminder for this Tuesday, Jan. 13th when we return to LA to rock one of our favorite venues- THE TROUBADOUR! Doors are at 7pm and we are on sharp at 7:30. So don’t be late! LA traffic is hell. The Troub is located at 9081 Santa Monica Blvd. and the number for info is 310-276-6168.

This Saturday, January 10, we kick off the year with our return to Fresno at Big Game Studios. Show starts at 7. Joining us for a night of rock will be our friends South of Shaw and Flight 409. Big Game is located at 1533 Belmont Ave.

Next Tuesday, January 13, it's our first major show of the year when we make our triumphant return to Los Angeles. and rock The Troubadour. Doors are 7pm and AOF is on first, so don't be late. It's a great bill with Halifax, The Higher and our friends The Matches. The Troub. is located at 9081 Santa Monica Blvd. L.A. traffic is hell, so please make sure you allow for time.

For everybody outside of California- cry not! We're talking to several labels, and our second record, Beg, Borrow, Steal, will be released in the first half of 2004. And we will be back on the road full time this spring. Keep checking back for more info.
