WHAT UP!?!
Greetings from a hotel room in Austin, Texas where passed out bodies are thrown about the room. Last night, we came to SXSW, we saw and we ROCKED!
It went so much better than expected. There were actually people who came to see us. We had a good sized crowd and even though it was the jaded over 21 crowd- they were into and even came up to the stage! Thanks to our under age fans who stood out on the street and watched the show. It was on a cool outdoor patio so you could see it.
After the show we got a bunch of business cards from all sorts of cool people... can't say who- we'll see if anything comes of it. We got to meet the people from our Japanese label too and they are so rad! Guess what... they told us a few people who look like they're playing at Summersonic Festival in Japan with us...

No shit- that's what the guy said- we'll see. I can't believe it- Army of Freshmen playing in Japan with those bands. Holy Crap.
Ok back to SXSW. After the show we totally went and rocked Austin. We hit up some other clubs so some great bands and drank (don't tell my mom.) It was an absolute blast. We couldn't have hoped for more. We got home around 4am.
Then we snuck into the pool. Then a security guy threatened to shoot us.
Don't mess with Texas indeed.
In sad news... I lost our drink tickets. This made me a very unpopular man in the band. Luckily our manager David came to the rescue and bought us drinks. Thank God cause if not I'd be lynched right now.
So in an hour or so we say goodbye to our beloved SXSW and head back to California for three shows- I'll keep trying to update at those shows over the weekend. For now though we'll be stuck in the van again for 28 hours straight- not looking forward to that- I'll tell you what (in Boomhower voice.)
It's been really great, I'm so thankful for this band. Hopefully some good things will come out of it- if nto- it'[s been an absolute blast- see you in Cali- bring some posse!

WELCOME TO THE FIRST ENTRY IN THE TOUR LOG!
Ok. So we haven't updated this at all. Not our fault- we've been stuck in a van for two days and I write this now from a Kinkos in Austin, TX.! Tonight is the show! Speaking of Kinkos this shit hole is charging 18 bucks an hour to use the computer so unfortunately this will be short. Word has it though at our hotel tonight we'll have computer access so expect another update before we leave Texas.
So... it's been awesome so far. I don't have time to go into detail but let me give you a quick rundown...
Random stuff...
We hooked up a TV and PS2 in the van with duct tape and it RULES! We've played ROCKY and this morning we finally beat it!
Kai is buying everything in site. Food, bags, cds, you name it - every trinket this side of Texas Kai now owns. Besides that his first road trip is going well.
We took a detour onto a dirt road in a small town in Texas and after a mile in- we found an abandoned van- we got scared and ran away but not before Aaron started crying (just kidding).
Not only is the country having a gas crisis- we are. All this road food has caused some serious butt in the van. The call of "safety" and "not it" is a sound all too familar.
I threw away my socks. Mike should have.
We went face to face with a angry bull who had a boner. So did Owen.
Oh yeah! The red ant fire holocaust. Gone mad by too much time in the van we pulled over to the middle of the desert and low and behold we stumbled upon an ant utopia. After a six man urine shower. Mike got the bright idea to send them to their fiery maker with a an arsenal of bootle rockets. Please don't tell PETA but the souls of hundreds of the stinging bastards are now on our conscience. May God have mercy but I'll tell ya the sight of a fire ant, on fire, flying through the air, is a vision to behold.
We ate at Whataburger.
Kai likes custard and cookies and Mr. Pibb in cans and high blood pressure.
We stopped at an indian casino and being the big ass players that we are threw on our 50 cent bling bling necklaces we bought at a truck stop. Knowing what high rollers we were the nice lady in the front showed us were the nickel slots were. We all lost 5 bucks. Fuck video Monopoly.
Hmm... oh last night we got to Austin and hit a few venues! If you can beleive we saw memebers from Taking Back Sunday, Trail of Dead, Recover, Zeke, Impossibles (yeah- I talked to Rory one of my favorite songwriters of all time). Just walking around! It's like a msuic heaven- bands everywhere. It's so cool. We got to see our friend Sarah from the band Saving Face who was playing in THE START- they rocked.
Tonight we're going to see our homies in The Rosenbergs, Divit, Dynamite Boy, The Stereo to name a few! Our show is at 11pm and we checked out the venue it's a cool outdoor deck with a tree in the middle of the stage. Hopefully we'll have some folks in the crowd- it's a bit rainy out but who cares.
