Thanks to all who came to the New Mexico State Fair- was great to be on the open road again- cool turning a mild mannered fair into a full blown rock show- great great weekend- here's to many more!
So- lot of people asking about what "Big Band" is... here's the deal...
For the past two years we've gotten together with our good friends Le Meu le Purr to celebrate a bunch of our birthdays that happen around the same time including Chris and Owens.
What we do though is pick a ton of covers all sorts from 80s cheese to 90s alternative and play them at the same time... two drummers, two bassists, four guitars. etc... it's the loudest thing you've ever heard and an absolute blast. We get some friend vocalists to come up and rock out- a total party and for the the third year we're doing 3 shows all in our hometown and they are all FREE!

Now for the local news... for those who don't know every year around Owen and Chris' birthday we get together with our good friends Le Mue Le Purr for our BIG BAND... both bands playing a crazy collection of cover songs at the same time! It's something that needs to be seen to be believed. Basically it's one big party and this year we're doing 3 shows in a row all in Ventura.

AOF in a movie!?! At the Playboy Mansion!?!? Read on!
Ok. We’re starting to get emails about it but yes it’s true...
Chris, Aaron and Kai are all on screen extras in a new movie... THE TELLING!
It’s a horror movie starring Holly and Bridgette from the tv show, The Girls Next Door and it was filmed at the Playboy Mansion.
The AOF guys are in the very opening of the movie... so good news is if you rent it you only have to watch the first few minutes (and that’s probably all you want to see) to catch a third of AOF pretending to party poolside. Marvel as Aaron spills a beer when an actress bumps into him.
So it’s Chris, Aaron and Kai’s first film appearance but more so it’s documented proof they got to go to the Playboy Mansion at least once in their lives.

We made it to China! We're in the future - its 8am here on Thursday and still 5pm back home.
So far so good- Kai and Chris hooked up a DVD player to the hotel and we're all watching "East Bound and Down". Mike got his laptop to work not sure how often this will work but MYSPACE was banned when he first tried but we got to it from a different link.
Tonight is the first show in Shanghai- club show with our buddies Mike TV from the UK- we'll see how the Chinese take to the AOF boys- weird news though- we've been told some Chinese Band copied one of songs and had a bunch of success here with it- that's how people know us here.
OK- wish us luck- today is first actual day here- hopefully no gets jailed or the police dont barge in here after they found out Im on myspace!?!

WE ARE OFF TO CHINA!
Later today we take flight for the 13 hour journey to China (not too mention the 2 hour ride to the airport, 1 hour flight to San Fran and then the 1 hour layover in San Francisco).
Out of a crazy career full of traveling this will be by far the strangest adventure of our lives. What exactly we're in for we have no clue. A communist country, a worldwide flu outbreak, two festivals, 3 club shows and more rumors/advice/concern then we've ever had for a tour but we intend to roll the dice and see what happens! The rock must be brought to the people! : > )
We are not sure what our internet access will be over there- we've heard myspace and facebook are banned BUT we will do our best to check in with you all and best of all- we're bringing a video camera so expect some serious AOF TV when we get back.
Love you all- keep us in your thoughts and here's hoping we don't end up causing some international incident- at least then you can all your friends when you see us on CNN- HEY... THOSE ARE MY BOYS!

We Made It Home - Sick For Thanksgiving!
Chris here in a not so healthy state.
We have returned from what was by far one of our best tours ever. First and foremost a huge thanks to everyone who made it out to a show. The response from the crowds each night was unreal and we truly thank you for your support and enthusiasm! Can't wait to do it again.
Secondly- I am SICK! Too much rocking, partying, bad weather, late night food and no sleep has left me full blown ill. I survived the whole tour and then on the way to the airport- every germ in England caught up to me. Sucky way to spend Thanksgiving- couldn't taste anything and kept falling asleep on the couch. No worries though- a small sacrifice for a great tour. Anyways hope that explains my lack of responding to emails, myspace, texts, phone calls, etc… I can barely make it through a comic book without spacing out. I am pulling to be back on my feet on Monday.
So just wanted to drop everyone and let ya know we made it back in one piece.
We'll be posting a detailed tour recap, the you tube contest winners, a ton of press and info on some upcoming events but for now it's back to sleep.

Greetings from Army of Freshmen Headquarters!
Chris here… midnight in California and I’m blurry eyed and tired but I’m feeling good.
You know sometimes it feels like all is right with the world.
We’re finally getting rid our cowboy president… the “No One’s Famous” video is on the charts on both Scuzz and Kerrang TV… my beloved Philadelphia Phillies have won the world series… Above The Atmosphere just got a 4 K review in Kerrang Magazine (out now- get it!) and most of all… we leave in 72 hours for the start of the United Kingdom Tour!
God I do love touring.
Ok. As hopefully you know this is a big one for us. We’ve made lot of progress in the UK over the past two years and this tour should be the culmination of all that hard work.
So there is one more ultra important thing left we need YOU to do and that is…
COME TO A SHOW!
How easy is that?
We know sometimes travel can be rough and school and work can get in the way but PLEASE make the extra effort to get to a show. We kept the tickets incredibly cheap- don’t give me the “I can’t afford it” this is Army of Freshmen- we look out for our fans and friends. Don’t have the 7 pounds… come to the show and trust me there will be a ton of people that would kick down 50pence each to get you into the club! Hell I just dug up my change from last tour and I’ll throw in.
Also – don’t just stop with you! Bring a friend, family member, neighbor- the more people to share in the fun the better- grab a newbie and let them see what all the fun is about! Load up the car and bring out a crew of people!
So we’ve done our part- we’re coming over with one of the best shows and sets we’ve ever had. We’ve promoted till we’re blue in the face (we should have a contest where the winner is whoever I haven’t bothered). It’s gonna be one big traveling party and we need YOU to spread the word over the next week and most of all we need YOU to be at the shows!
Remember tickets are on sale now for every single show (check the last blog for links and show info) and though we do want and need ya to get tickets in advance- they will also be on sale at the door for every show! So last minute folks are welcome as well!
So the big question… what shows are we seeing YOU at and how big is the posse you’re bringing and did you get your tickets yet? Post a comment to this blog let me know and lets get some Freshmen fans meeting now online before the shows!

Last spring they said we couldn’t headline a tour in the UK.
With your help…. they ate a big bag of shit.: > )
Now it’s time to make them eat it again. The dates for our headlining tour in November will be announced this week and we’re determined to sell these shows out and begin the full on Army of Freshmen UK invasion.
So with that said we want your input on how we can make this the biggest tour we’ve ever done!
Let us know the following!
1. Who are some good UK bands (local and beyond) that you’d like to see on the tour and would fit well on the tour… FYI…. Muse is not available… we already asked.
2. What city do you most want to see the tour come to? Please do not say a town that is impossible to go to. For instance… Please come to The Wasted Hen Pub on the island of Ipyswitcherfield!
3. What other upcoming shows in the UK (have you seen all the good tours coming?) are you going to? Would you be interested in flyering at them for the AOF tour? This is the best way we can spread the word on the tour.

Tour News Friday! New Video Monday!
Summer's Over! (That's for the old school fans… : > )
I don't know about anybody else but thank goodness. Besides some GREAT movies (Dark Knight, Step Brothers, Tropic Thunder, Iron Man) this summer seemed to be all death, accidents, hurricanes, political drama and bad weather.
So enough of that- it's time for the fall and the rise of Army of Freshmen!
Your homies in AOF have been working hard behind the scenes to get ready for what should be an amazing fall and we have two major, super important, life altering announcements to make.
1. This Friday (in 24 hours) we are announcing MAJOR fall tour news. Tune in, check back and get ready to be excited!
2. The wait is finally over. This Monday will be premeiring the first music video off the new record, "No One's Famous" on our you tube channel a.k.a. armyoffreshmen.tv Yes. Yes. It's true. Hold back you tears of joy and get ready! We made two versions... the short/tv version that we putting out on Monday and then the long form/short film version that will be available on itunes next month. More on that later!

FREE Benefit Show for Chris’ High School in New Jersey this weekend!
Friends of the Freshmen on the East Coast and beyond!
Army of Freshmen will be doing a FREE concert this Saturday, July 5th in Cape May, New Jersey to benefit the music department of Chris' hometown high school.
We need Freshmen fans from near and far to make the journey to support this great cause and more so see a FREE AOF headline concert.
If thats not enough... Chris' dad's band, OLD SCHOOL is opening the show along with 7 Mornings and some very special surprise guests... : > )
It's taking place at LCMR High School Auditorium in Cape May, New Jersey. (687 Route 9) Doors open at 6:30 and the show starts at 7:00pm.
For all you over 21ers there will be an official after party at the Ugly Mug in Cape May immediately after the show and it will be going all night! If you attend the concert you'll get a flyer for free admission to the party.
Now for those of you that live absolutely NOWHERE near you can still help the cause. The music department is accepting donations of any amount to put towards the cost of the show and the scholarship program the show is benefiting. AOF is devoting their time completely for free to help keep music programs in schools.

UK Tour Done. Bout To Fly Home. Download Festival Amazing.
Well here we are. We're all crammed into a hotel room watching the Lakers at 2 in the morning and at 6am we drive to London to fly home after 2 of the best weeks of our lives.
The tour was everything we ever wanted and more. Night after night of Freshmen sing alongs, crazy shows and seeing a ton of friends and fans- just perfect and then Download...
Well... Download Festival was a dream come true. I truly believe it was one of the best shows we ever played. The stage we played at was packed to the brim with an over the top crowd, we had burlesque dancers come on stage to lead the crowd in singing happy birthday to Aaron, I got to do my Iron Maiden impression... truly a triumphant day after an amazing tour.
Can't put into words how much this has all meant to us. We are coming back to the UK for sure in the fall- details coming- we've announced the first round shows for the USA this summer and there's so much more to talk about BUT right now we need to root the Lakers on and get to the airport. I'll hit hit ya up when we get home!

ARMY OF FRESHMEN TO PLAY DOWNLOAD FESTIVAL!
We have MASSIVE news. Army of Freshmen has been invited to play once again at one of the world's largest rock festivals… THE DOWNLOAD FESTIVAL in England!
That's right after last year's well received performance- (one of the best sets we've ever played frankly) even though we're not a metal band, the good people at the Download Festival have invited us back after seeing our set and the turn out we had (thanks to YOU for that) and we couldn't be more excited!
We will be playing on Sunday, June 15th… tickets are available for the entire weekend as well as one day passes.
Just who else will be at the Download Festival this year? Army of Freshmen Announce First Ever United Kingdom Headline Tour!
Well it’s official. Army of Freshmen will be going on their first ever headline tour of the United Kingdom in early June!
All the dates, city, venue and ticket information will be released later this week but we can give you some details!
First off… we are doing this cause of YOU. We never expected the outpour of support that we received from the last blog. Every one of us was blown away by your kind words and the demand for us to come and do a headlining tour. It was so intense in fact that well… we said screw it- you only live once.
Secondly, please bare in mind that this will be a limited tour (8 to 10 dates) and we can not come to every city, so we’re gonna need some of you to do a little traveling and be good sports about it! On a rather last minute tour like this where and when we play are based more on availability of clubs and promoters.
Lastly we are playing very small venues that in many in cases we hope will sell out, so we will need you to get your tickets in advance and of course bring 10 of your closest friends and family with you.
So there you have it… the Army is coming back thanks to you! We’ll need all kinds of help to pull this off and we’ll be bothering you left and right about it but if this tour is as amazing as we think it’s gonna be it will be worth all the hard work.

We have an important question for YOU.
Recording for the new record is wrapped up as of today and next week mixing starts!!!
With that said we’ve started talking about tour plans for the summer in the USA and in the UK.
We are very interested in doing our first headline tour in the UK. Just a small venue tour to test out the new material, play some old faves, see all our friends again and let our peeps in the UK see what a full AOF show is all about as opposed to our usual 25 minute opening slots on bigger tours.
Here’s where things get interesting. We can’t name names at all but after putting some feelers out for a possible return to the UK… someone in the UK music industry (no names or companies mentioned) said…
“Army of Freshmen is an amazing live band but they are not capable of drawing a crowd on their own. They don’t have a large or loyal enough base to do a headline tour. It would fail if they tried it.”
Can you believe that?!?
As you know we came to the UK last year on 4 different tours not to mention a festival appearance. We invested thousands upon thousands of dollars, lived show to show and spent weeks on end away from home touring in the UK last year because it was extremely important to devote our time and energy to that country and develop our fan base there.
We played in front of thousands of people there last year and the response we’ve had at every single show we played was amazing. We feel we played some of the best shows in our history as band last year in the UK.
And as for our fans and fan base…
Some of our favorite fans in the entire world are from the UK and the crowds whether small or big always give off the most amazing energy. We get emails and myspace messages everyday from UK asking when we’re coming back and asking if we’ll do a headline tour. Hell I have a scrapbook that I keep on my downstairs coffee table that is filled with heartfelt messages from various fans across the UK! We have friends we care about in every city in the UK.
So… to hear this idiot say we don’t have a fan base there is insulting to us and you.
We’re not on a big label (who wants to be?) and maybe we can’t buy our way onto TV or on the cover of magazines but if there’s one thing we have… it’s real people like YOU who believe in this band and support us for the right reasons.
So what I am asking YOU is this…
If we risked it all and came over to the UK on a small headlining tour….
Would YOU come to the show?
I mean no matter what. No matter if you had to hop on a train and go to another city because we weren’t playing in your city. No matter if you had school or work the next day. No matter if it was one of your “super sweet 16 fresher exam balls to the walls we’re getting hammered on drinks that purple” nights!?!
If we kept the ticket super cheap would you bring some friends along? Even if you had to get the tickets for them? Hell bring the family! Would you let people know that is a band you have to see live? Would you buy your tickets in advance? Would you go to some shows prior to ours and hand out flyers? Would you road trip it and hit more then one show? Would you cover your myspace with flyers and banners for the tour?
It we went out on a limb and took a chance that could financially and career wise devastate us… would you be there for us?
If you would- I promise we’d bring you one of the most energetic and fun shows you’ve ever been to- small club- close up- in your face- hang out- party- rock and roll event.
I think we can do this together and make statement but I need to know from YOU- if you’re there no matter what.

Back from Texas! Back in the studio!
The Get Happy Tour showcase at SXSW was amazing! The show ended up selling out and the crowd was awesome. Thanks to our friends and fans from all over Texas and beyond... big props to Flick who came all the way from England for the show! Great to see all our friends in Bowling For Soup, Wheatus and Ludo again! For AOF is it was a 48 hour non stop party that left 6 very exhausted Freshmen flying back home yesterday morning.
Despite being hung over, jet lagged and a little sore after our first show of the year - the rock must not stop and we head back into a new studio this Monday to start work on the vocals for the record. Things are sounding amazing so far and we hope to be done recording and starting mixing by the beggining of April!

It's 2 am here in Ventura- I just got back from our last practice and loading the gear session and in 5 hours I have to wake up pick up Mike and head down to the studio to start the first day of recording record 4! The other guys get to sellp in and come down later... bastards. : > )
If you can't tell I'm excited. I've always thought there was something special about that 4th record it really says that your band lasted and lot of bands 4th record are their best and I'm hoping that's the case with this one! There's magic in the air and hopefully we can capture it with this new album.
There's a passion to these new songs and energy that is really refreshing- at practice tonight I was rocking out envisioning playing these songs live and I got goosebumps I was so into them- that's a good sign.
So anyways as promised we will be documenting the whole process and every night posting a daily video update where we will be announcing the name of the songs on the record and answering your questions- every question we answer will get an authentic prize from the studio- so get your questions in- you can post them in the comments section on myspace or email us at info@armyoffreshmen.com and be sure to check back here everyday to see how things are going and watch the update. We head into the studio this Friday! We need your questions for ASK AOF!
It's official.
ARMY OF FRESHMEN HEADS INTO THE STUDIO THIS FRIDAY TO BEGIN RECORDING OUR 4th RECORD!!!
That's right! We are about to start recording the most important album of our career and we are excited beyond belief.
Here's the basics- we're heading into a studio in Burbank, California for 10 straight days to record all the music for the record then we head to our producer's studio in Sherman Oaks, California to record all the vocals in March.
So what can we tell ya about the new record? Well it's going to be produced by Jay Ruston who also produced our last record, "Under The Radar". We've written 16 songs and are planning on recording 10 to 12 for the new record. We've also got to do some writing with friends in other bands which we'll tell ya about in the future… you'll be excited trust us!
We think it's the best material we've ever written and can't wait to put it down in the studio.
Now starting Friday- we're gonna try something new! For past records we've kept a journal but this time we're doing a video journal- along photos… every night for the first 10 days we're gonna post an update on the day's recordings and a little segment we're calling…

Back Home Safe! Thank You United Kingdom!
We made it home safely… bit of a nightmare though! The plane got in late to our second flight in Chicago and we missed our connecting flight! After an 8 hour flight, a very exhausted and moody Army of Freshmen had to push all their gear into a hotel in Chicago and proceed to get 4 hours of sleep. Then we had to lug our gear back to the airport the next morning. All in all we were a day late in getting home but we did seek revenge on the very unhelpful airline and hotel by pulling an Ocean's 11 into the locked mini bar and drinking and eating it totally empty!!! How's that for vigilante justice!
Well the UK tour is over and it looks like the end of a very long year of touring for Army of Freshmen! We already don't know what to do with ourselves but it's important that we get busy writing the new record and we're all very excited for that.
As for the tour… it was a dream come true. Playing MASSIVE sold out shows to incredibly enthusiastic crowds every night was something we used to dream of and now it's come true.
The fans in the UK are quite possibly the best in the world and the kindness they showed us was downright touching. Everyday there would be fans hanging out by the buses before we even woke up!
From homemade signs to new Army of Freshmen tattoos (pics coming soon!) to the single most amazing gift we've ever received- an actual hand crafted Army of Freshmen scrapbook written by fans and filled with photos and letters- every night we got something special or had a great experience beyond the show.
We are deeply grateful for everyone who turned out, supported us in anyway or was cool enough to hang out before and after the shows.
So with that said- we've got tons of video and pics coming almost daily so keep checking back for loads of updates and news!

Greetings from a club in Cologne, Germany!!!
Tonight is the last show in Germany and we are READY to head to the UK.
We leave tonight, take the ferry from France in the morning then pick up Zebrahead tomm. afternoon!
Gonna be a long day but well worth it when we get to the start of the greatest tour EVER in the United Kingdom.
A lot of people having been messaging us about if we need anything at the shows... thanks as always- really all we need you do to is stop by the merch and pick a shirt- that's the biggest way to help us cover this heavy duty financial of this tour but of course anything you want to bring is helpful!

We leave TODAY for France!!!
In a few hours from now- we'll driving down to LA then getting on the plane for the long flight to London then immediately getting on a bus and taking the ferry over to France to our first show ever in Paris on Wednesday!!! We know... that's a whole lot of traveling in 72 hours- we'll probably look like zombies by the time it's all over but who cares!?! It's the freakin biggest Get Happy Tour yet in the best place to play in the world- THE UNITED KINGDOM!
Today we got together to load up all the gear and I can't tell you how excited we are for this tour. We are playing with not one not two but three of the craziest funniest bands in rock and we think EVERY single night of the tour is going to one huge party!
Tonight everyone will probably stay up too late packing and won't be able to sleep but what the heck… it's our 3rd trip to the this year and our second to Europe. We leave today- Bowling For Soup tomorrow and then Zebrahead and Bloodhound come in next week.
The show are set to be huge and are selling like crazy we are less then one week away from the UK dates and already two are sold out in advance and even more are set to sell out- so PLEASE if you haven't yet- get your tickets now!!!!
We want to see the friends of the freshmen up front- rocking out and singing along. We've got some brand new never seen shirts we're bringing so save a few pounds so you can pick one up and help the cause. We're looking forward to seeing all our friends over there and hanging out- so come find us by the merch!!!

This week is Owen and Chris’ birthday and we’re celebrating with a pretty special event.
This Wednesday Sept. 26th at Bombay’s in Ventura, CA. (143 S. California St.) We’re having a dual band cover jam with our good friends, Le Mue Le Purr. Sadly Bombays is only 21 and over but the good news it’s totally free to attend!
Music is getting started at 9pm and we are going to attempt to play together at the SAME TIME! That’s right- 10 guys playing an hours worth of cover songs… we’re not actually sure how it’s gonna sound but look at it as great science experiment in the history of rock music… plus more importantly we’ll celebrate with a lot of partying for Wednesday Night!

AOF plays our first show in Ventura since February TONIGHT Friday, Sept. 14th opening for the legendary LAGWAGON at the Ventura Theatre. Tickets will be on sale at the door. Doors open at 7pm and AOF is on at 8:30.

Get Happy USA Wraps Up! European Dates Announced! Hometown show w/ Lagwagon and more!
The 2007 Get Happy USA Summer Tour wrapped up night last night with a massive show at the House of Blues in Dallas. It was an amazing summer and great to be back out in the states seeing all our friends not too mention being on tour with the most amazing people. One of our all time favorite tours by far.
Today we're maxing and relaxing at our friend Wayne's house in Dallas with all the bands before we make the LONG drive back to Cali. When we get home we'll be posting all sorts of video and photos from the tour so keep checking back.
We're also happy to announce that we're headed back to Europe for the 2nd time this year!!!

We've got two days off till the Fish tour picks back up and stir craziness is setting in fast.
Great to be back in the UK though and the first RBF show here was awesome!!! Sold out show in Milton Keynes and a pretty epic stage dive off the speakers. Excited to be back in front of some super amped UK crowds.
Beyond that- my super dying old man cough forced me to finally go to the hospital yesterday. Unfortunately nothing was wrong! They gave me no meds and said it was just a cold. Right...
In good news... health care is free here which is pretty amazing.

Our first tour of mainland Europe is in the books along with our longest run ever (21 straigt shows!!!) and what a great time!!!
Last night we checked out the adult Disneyland of Amsterdam (imagine Vegas on steroids) and this morning as the sun rose we once again hopped on the boat in France and it took us to the majestic white cliffs of Dover, England back to a country where we can understand people!!!
Right now we're maxing and relaxing at a mall in Milton Keynes getting ready for the start of the Reel Big Fish UK Tour- we're super excited to see all our friends all over again so soon- get your tickets now if you don't have um and please come out and buy some merch so we can eat... not kidding. : > )

AOF Goes to the Berlin Wall, UK Sell Outs, New Summer Dates!
Today the Army of Freshmen put their hands firmly against the Berlin Wall and the collapse of communism around the world was finally complete.
Well… not totally but we did go to the Berlin Wall today and autograph it so future generations will forever see Army of Freshmen’s name on one of the only world famous monuments where graffiti is encouraged!
Pretty amazing moment for us all.
Anyways tonight is the second to last date of the German Tour and we’re at a small club in Berlin. The stage is tiny as can be and the crowd is in more the most intimate show AOF and RBF for that matter have played in a while. Should be exciting.

As promised…we’ve got some amazing news for you!
We’re happy to announce that this May after the Good to Go Tour in the United Kingdom we’ll be going on our first ever tour of mainland Europe!!!
Did we mention it’s with Reel Big Fish!!!
Did we also mention- we’ll be staying with Reel Big Fish after the European tour to play even more United Kingdom dates!!!
This is a total dream come true for us to play in mainland Europe and we couldn’t be more excited- we get to rock Belgium, Germany and the Netherlands (including Amsterdam… which will be the single most epic night of our lives.)
Bad news is in order to do we will have to miss 5 dates on the Good To Go Tour... Derby, Edinburgh, Leeds, Leicester and Norwich. Good to Go will still be happening as planned and will kick butt with Wheatus, MC Lars and Punchline but sadly AOF will not be at those 5 dates.
On the bright side though- we’ll be coming back to the UK for 13 more shows!!!

We have returned home safely from the United Kingdom and the single best tour we have ever been on. We want to send out a huge heartfelt thanks to everyone who came out to the SOLD OUT tour which played to over 25,000 people over 12 shows! We made so many new friends and fans and we’ve been overwhelmed by the amazing response we had at the shows, online and in the press. A big thanks to all the other bands on the tour- Bowling For Soup, Wheatus and Son of Dork- it was like a big family for two weeks and we couldn’t have been on the road with better people.
Now before we go to sleep for two straight days, we are happy to announce that we are headed back to the UK in May! We’ve been asked to appear on this year’s Good to Go Tour with 3 of our best friends in rock… Wheatus, MC Lars and Punchline! We’re pretty much in love with the country so we couldn’t say no! For our homies across the pond on our off day from the Get Happy Tour (Feb. 16th) we will be doing a one off show with Wheatus at The Met Lounge in Peterborough! You may recall how much we love Peterborough and we couldnt bare to be in the UK and not see everybody there.

Thanks to everyone who came out to see us on the Reel Big Fish tour! We had a blast being out with one of our favorite bands and one of our early influences.
During the 2 week Southwest tour, we saw terrible snow storms in Colorado, fought money sucking casinos in Vegas, lost two tires in one day in New Mexico but generally had a great time.

That's right! Chris is a massive Rocky fan and flew to Las Vegas last year, weaseled his way onto the set and was an extra in the crowd during the movie's final fight scene.

Thanks to everyone who came out to our last two shows of the year in LA and San Fran with The Aquabats. Both shows were sold out and we had an amazing time. Great way to end the year seeing so many friends.

As everyone knows… our bass player Kai is a Stars Wars maniac. From tattoos to legal name changes- Kai’s devotion to the force recently caught the attention of some Lucas film employees and they invited the band to visit the top secret beyond cool Lucas Films Complex and do an interview with Kai!!!
So this past Thursday before our show in San Francisco, AOF was treated to a private tour. We made it home safely after our two week, “HARD ROAD TO DALLAS TOUR”.
We had an incredible time- so good to see all our friends in Utah, Idaho, Colorado, Texas and Arizona. Big thanks to everyone who made road trips to the shows from as far as Washington, Oklahoma and even New Jersey!!! The SOLD OUT Bowling For Soup CD Release Party was unreal along with our SOLD OUT radio sponsored shows in Idaho Falls, Twin Falls and San Angelo!

It’s long been a dream of ours to see our band’s name in an actual published book and now it’s finally come true! We’re happy to tell you that lyrics to the Army of Freshmen song “Road Less Traveled” have been used in a new book that just came out called High School Confidential.
Written by Jeremy Iversen, it’s his true story of a 25 year old pretending to be a student in high school and all the dirt he digs up in the process. It’s really a fascinating and fun read. It’s just been released in hardcover at all book stores as well as available for order at all online book stores. Or if you’re broke like us... just stop by the closest Borders and turn to page 109 to see actual Army of Freshmen lyrics at the top of the chapter! Simply too cool and a huge thanks to Mr. Iversen for helping make one of our little dreams come true.

The BIG news is here…
Army of Freshmen is coming back to the United Kingdom!!!
After an overwhelming demand from all our friends across the pond and a lot of great team work between the bands and promoters, we are happy to officially announce that the Get Happy Tour is headed to the United Kingdom this February, 2007!
That’s right. The Get Happy Tour is going international and it’s starting in one of the best places to play in the world. Joining us for the rock this winter will be Bowling For Soup, Son of Dork and Wheatus!
We’re really excited about the line up as all the bands are already friends and it will be Bowling For Soup, Wheatus and Army of Freshmen’s first UK shows since 2005 and Son of Dork’s first official UK tour!
There’s all sorts of exciting things in the works for the tour but first things first and that is most importantly- it is OFFICIALLY happening.
Dates, cities and ticket information will be announced soon so be sure to add us to your friend list check back soon but for now start spreading the word… ARMY OF FRESHMEN is coming back to the UK!

We made it home safely! After 60 shows in nearly 3 months across the United States, Army of Freshmen’s 2006 summer tour has come to end. We want to send out a big thank you to all our friends on the “Get Happy Tour - Bowling For Soup, Lucky Boys Confusion and Punchline!
It was by far our best summer EVER and we couldn’t have done it without all of your help! From everyone who brought us care packages to every single person who bought a cd- you made it possible. Thank you so much.

Greetings from Mike's Mom's house in Maryland. Today is our first day off after setting our new record of consecutive shows... 17 days in the row!
Needless to say we are exhausted. The pasy two weeks have been a blur- drive, play, party... repeat.
So let's catch up... shall we?
1. Army of Freshmen are in the new issue of Billboard Magazine! That's right. In the current issue of Billboard (July 22) w/ Outkast on the cover on page 11 is an article about unsigned bands appearing on the charts and you guessed it- one of those bands is us! Under The Radar was the #3 Heatseeker Record in the Midwest. They even used our picture! It's on the stands for a few more days- so hit a Barnes and Noble, Borders or a record store and pick it up! Our Billboard debut- photo and all.
2. We've added another date to our summer tour- it's another one off with Lucky Boys Confusion and Punchline on Friday, August 18 at The Metro in Oakland, California. So YES we will be coming back to Northern California. There is also talk of maybe one more Get Happy Tour Date with Bowling For Soup somewhere in Nor Cal. added on the following night- so we will keep you posted if we hear anything.
3. While in New York this past Friday, AOF did a bunch of magazine interviews including In Touch Weekly and Teen People! We'll keep you posted as to if and when those will run in the magazines. Pretty cool to be running around New York talking about your celebrity crushes and your favorite color... Rachel McAdams and green for those keeping score.
4. The Get Happy has been amazing so far. Make sure you check the tour's official site MYSPACE.COM/GETHAPPYTOUR for updates and blog from all the bands. Heads up as the shows are doing great and several datse ESPECIALLY the Los Angeles show are expected to sell out- so please get tickets in advance. We don't want any of our friends back home to miss out!
5. We havent seen it yet but word has it the MTV dating show, NEXT and Cheyenne used some AOF tunes recently. As always let us know when and where you hear AOF on the tube- it's hard for us to find out about it when we're on the road.
6. Lastly a huge personal thanks for everyone who helped make the show in Cape May, New Jersey such a massive success. Your donations were a big help and the whole night was really special. The bands had an amazing time and we helped raised a lot of money for the school's music department. We honored to have such good friends and fans who helped out despite not being able to attend. Thank you all- you helped make a lot of kids in my hometown really happy.
Ok- so we're kicking Mike in the butt and you should have a new video update on myspace any day now- we'll let you know when it's up!

The Get Happy Tour has been simply incredible so far. Despite having our RV and tralier vandalized in Chicago- all is well. Summerfest on the 4th of July was one of the coolest shows AOF has ever played. Hopefully you've been enjoying the video updates on our MYSPACE site. We've got a new one coming any day now. OK- so next Friday, July 14 is Chris' big hometown show in Cape May, New Jersey. It's a benefit concert for Chris' high school's music department. AOF is putting the show on themselves and all the bands on the tour will be there!
Cape May is resort beach town at the bottom of Jersey and is an easy trip for anyone in the NY, NJ, PA, MD, DE, DC area. After the show there will be an official after party for anyone over 21 at the Ugly Mug in Cape May-all the bands should be stopping by for it.

In slightly more depressing news- the going away/cd release party scheduled for June 17 in Ventura has been canceled. We know. We know. The venue we booked was small and doesn’t usually do shows. When the calls started pouring in about the show- we think they got scared and canceled. It’s a blessing in disguise though- we’ve decided to hold off and throw a massive CD release party when we get back from the summer tour.
So when can YOU get the record otherwise known as our masterpiece? Well the good news is we will be selling UNDER THE RADAR at every single show this summer. That’s right. Before it hits stores this fall- we will be selling it in advance at all shows on the summer tour. It will also be available on ITUNES later this summer. We’ll keep you posted.

Yes it’s true- Army of Freshmen are headed back to Japan for the third time this April! We will be featured on the Nutcase Entertainment 2006 Tour! What exactly is Nutcase Entertainment? Well it’s the new label we’ve signed with in Japan who will be releasing our new record in that country in April. Check um out at nutcase-entertainment.com
We know, we know… Japan is once again getting the new AOF record before anyone else. Our apologies to our friends here at home and in the UK but please trust us it will be worth the wait!

We will also be adding some acoustic in store appearances while in Japan so be on the look out for those. We’ll be sure to take plenty of pictures as well and there’s even some talk of running the I WANT A POSTCARD FROM JAPAN contest.
The week before we leave for Japan however we are teaming up with our good friends, The Suburban Legends for a show Monday, April 10th at the Knitting Factory in Hollywood. We’re calling it the Army of Freshmen/Suburban Legend’s Manic Monday Party and the night should just be amazing. It’s an event you don’t wanna miss and your last chance to see AOF before they head overseas.
Lastly on the season premiere of the Real World as the new cast walked into their mansion on the water front (sure does sound like something that would happen in the “real world”), our song, “Put Me in a Photograph” was used for quite a nice chunk of time. This is right on the heels of “Meet The Barkers” using a ton of AOF music.
